Samosir island
Samosir Island is a volcanic island in the middle of Lake Toba in North Sumatra province. An island in the island with an altitude of 1,000 meters above sea level makes this island into an island that attract the attention of tourists.
Is the concentration Tuktuk tourist center on the island of Samosir. From Parapat, Tuktuk can be connected with the ferry crossing. Besides water transportation, Samosir Island can also be reached by land through the Pangururan where Samosir Island and the island of Sumatra in touch.
Samosir Island itself is located in the area of new Samosir regency in 2003 separated from ex-Toba Samosir regency.
On this island there are also two small lakes as a recreational area of Lake and Lake Sidihoni the Natonang Aek earned the nickname "the lake above the lake".
