Jakarta - The Metropolis City



Special Region of Jakarta (DKI Jakarta, Jakarta Raya) is the capital of Indonesia. The city is the only one in Indonesia that has province-level status. Jakarta is located in the northwestern part of Java Island. Once known as the Sunda Kelapa / Kalapa (before 1527), Jayakarta (1527-1619), Batavia (1619-1942), and Djakarta (1942-1972).



In 2004, the area is approximately 740 km ² and a population of 8,792,000 inhabitants [2]. Jakarta with metropolitan Jabotabek with a population of approximately 23 million inhabitants is the largest metropolitan areas in Indonesia or a sixth of the world. Jabotabek area now has been integrated with the Greater Bandung area, where Megapolis Jabotabek-Bandung Raya covering approximately 30 million people, which puts this region Megapolis second world, after Tokyo Megapolis.



Currently the entrance to the Jakarta International Soekarno-Hatta International Airport and Port of Tanjung Priok. Since the year 2004 under the leadership of Governor Sutiyoso, Jakarta has an integrated transportation modes, known as TransJakarta. Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) is a cultural tourist areas in Jakarta. Located at coordinates 6 ° 18'6 .8 "S, 106 ° 53'47 .2" BT, in the middle there is a lake TMII depicting the great Indonesian archipelago in small form.

In shopping centers are attending various international franchises such as Starbucks, Sogo Department Store, fast food restaurant chain McDonalds. In addition, the company's national franchise companies also fills the shopping centers, such as Es Teler 77, J. Co, and noodle Gajah Mada. In addition to shopping centers luxury, Jakarta also has many traditional markets managed by PD Pasar Jaya, among others, the Tanah Abang market became the largest textile wholesale center in Southeast Asia. Jakarta is a metropolis city ..
JAKARTA are a lot of fun but a lot of polluted air. However, if you are a wildlife person..don't go to Jakarta. theres a lot of polluted air here
