The end of April Events

In commemoration of the unite of West Papua to the Republic of Indonesia, We welcome to all of you to attend various and arts performances which will be held on April 27 till May 1, 2010 in Jayapura, Papua.

Pra activities of April 27 until 30, 2010
1. Tourism Motorcycle Rally’s Routes : Start at Gunung Merah Depapre, finish at PTC Entrop These routes are coordinated by Sentani’s Milittary Command.
2. Merah Putih National’s flag raising along main street at the border of the capital city Jayapura to Sentani’s Regent Office ,which will be coordinated Danramil Sentani, Head of the General Affairs and head of the East Sentani’s Military District Command.
3. Carnival of civilization trail with rutes from Amay Bay – Depapre – Heroes Cemetery “Marthen Indey” – Kertosari – Harapan Village and finish at Khalkote Beach, which will be coordinated by the Battalion Command 751 and Head of Youth services and Sports District of Jayapura.


D-Day activities on May 1 2010
Opening with “Bhineka Tunggal Ika” (Unity of Diversity) Carnival, these event will start from the Headquarters Air Base Command, which was arranged by Danramil Jayapura Sentani with carnival participants, namely :
1. Students’ Drum bands parade
2. Flute and drum attractions
3. Cross Gamana Decorated Cars parade
4. Decorated Cars parade from many societies
5. Cars parade from some Organizations
6. Parades from some Schools
7. Decorative Boats Parade
8. Parachute Attractions by Indonesian Air Force

Papua - The Black Pearl from East

Papua is the largest province of Indonesia located in the middle of the island of Papua or the most eastern part of West New Guinea (Irian Jaya). Eastern parts of the country of Papua New Guinea or East New Guinea.

Papua province had covered the entire western region of Papua, which is often referred to as West Papua, particularly by the Free Papua Movement (OPM), the nationalists who want to secede from Indonesia and establish their own state. In the reign of the Dutch East Indies colonial, this area known as Dutch New Guinea (Nederlands Nieuw-Guinea or Dutch New Guinea). Once under the control of Indonesia, the area known as West Papua province from 1969 to 1973. His name was changed to Irian Jaya by Soeharto inaugurated at the copper and gold mine of Freeport, a name still used officially until 2002.

The name was changed to the province of Papua as Law No. 21 Year 2001 on Special Autonomy. In the spring of 2004, accompanied by numerous protests (merger and Central Papua East Papua), Papua into two provinces by the government of Indonesia; the eastern part still uses the name Papua, while the west to West Irian Jaya province (a year later became West Papua). The eastern part of which is the area of Papua Province at this time.

The word itself comes from the Papuan language which means wither curly hair, a description which refers to the physical appearance of tribals

Mansinam Island

Mansinam island with an area of 410.97 ha, is located in the bay south of the city doreri - Manokwari.

Traditional boat or Long Boat is a means of transport used to visit this island
cost Rp. 3000, - per person in 10-15 minutes travel time. Visiting the island is unforgettable experience. Bat Cave would attract other beautiful natural beaches and comfortable as a place of recreation, swimming activities and boating. on the seabed around the island there are several wrecks and of course the object of its own tourist attraction for enthusiasts underwater park.



In addition, the island also have memories early history of civilization in Papua since the date of February 5, 1855, two German missionaries of Willem Carel Ottow and Johann Gottlob Gissler first set foot on this island. Sites Church, House, Boarding House, the Old Well and a few Grave Zendeling is historical evidence that can still be found in here in addition to entry of the gospel memorial in Papua.
